Review VINE WEEVIL KILLER (100 SQ. M) PACK / JUST GREEN:"Pack treats up to 100 sq. metres (125 sq. yds). Vine weevil killer contains nematodes which kill vine weevil larvae. They should be watered into the soil or compost and once they come into contact with the larvae they enter the body, releasing a bacteria, which kills the larva or grub. The product should be applied in the Spring and Autumn to cull the life cycle of the pest. Applications in the spring can be made after the soil temperature is above 5C, (usually about March). We recommend a second treatment from Mid August up to October. Single application packs can be purchased or use money saving programmes to cover spring and autumn treatments. ".

Review LEATHERJACKET KILLER - 100 sq. m / JUST GREEN:"Leatherjackets are the soil dwelling larvae of the Crane fly and cause damage and yellowing of lawns and root death. They also attract animals and birds, which dig up lawns looking for these pests to eat. Adult Leatherjackets, also know as Daddy-Long-Legs, generally start to hatch from pupae in late July early August and may be seen flying until September. Large numbers of adults may also be seen emerging from lawns early in the morning especially around August time. After hatching they mate and the females lay eggs, (usually late summer), in the ground a process which they accomplish in 24 hours. Eggs hatch in about two weeks and the new larvae start to feed on grass roots, usually late August early September. The larvae continue feeding through the winter and into the following spring. Larvae stop feeding in May / June after which they will pupate close to the surface of the soil. Nematodes can be used from August to October as a means of controlling these pests or in the spring when soil temperatures are above 10C. Just Leatherjacket Killer contains nematodes, tiny parasitic worms supplied as a live product in a small sealed container which will fit through most letter boxes.
