Trials with nematodes have shown that ant colonies disappear after treatment with them. The ants do not appear to die, unlike other nematode treatments against pests, but the nematodes do act as an irritant to ants. The ants do not tolerate the nematodes in the colony and move away, usually some distance as lawns treated did not see new colonies appear shortly after treatment. Nematodes are tiny parasitic worms supplied as a live product in a small sealed container which will fit through most letter boxes. The product should be used as soon as possible after receipt or stored in a fridge. Simply mix up the nematodes in a watering can or our Handy Feeder / Nematode Applicator and drench onto the ant "mounds" or colonies. A rate of 1 million nematodes per colony is recommended.
